Membership includes subscriptions to The Bronx County Historical Journal, published semi-annually, and The Bronx Historian Newsletter. The Society also has a large selection of publications for purchase in their Store. The Research Library and Archives contain original documents, manuscripts, books, maps and city directories going back to pre-Civil War days, covering not only Bronx history but also the history of New York City and Westchester County.

The Society is located in Boston, Mass. Holdings include: correspondence, wills, deeds, genealogies, and family papers of William NICKERSON (died circa 1689) and Ann (BUSBY) NICKERSON and their descendants.
SOME WESTCHESTER HOLDINGS: Besides microfilms of both Federal and State Census records, the NY G&B holds microfilms for Westchester for Will Libers (1788-1811); Letters of Administration (1787-1825); Index to Wills (1788-1896); Index to Administrations (1788-1896); Deeds (1774-1817); and Mortgages (1773-1798).
The U.S.History, Local History & Genealogy Division at the Center for the Humanities has one of the largest genealogical collections in the collection. You can also view some of the Library's catalogs on the web. The Rare Books and Manuscripts Division includes information on the PALMER, HOWELL, SANDS, and related families.
NYG&BS at the NYPL: In 2009, the library of the NYG&BS was donated to the NYPL's Stephen A. Schwarzman Research Library. In addition to the thousands of books, the NYG&BS's collection of locale files was also donated. See the finding aid to these files in PDF format on NYPL's web site.

HOLDINGS include: Papers relating to the VAN CORTLANDT and VAN WYCK families. Indexes to naturializations. Also, they have a number of church records on microfilm.
